RENOVATION THROUGH MEDICATION
(An assurance from the discipline of “Sidha”)
Man’s effort to attain rejuvenation has its origin in the past. Though artistically created with the favour of the inextricably mixed fact and function, the good old Indian myth provides us a graphic account of the attainment of “Amrit” or “Nectar”, the divine drink for rejuvenation. “Amrit” or “Nectar” imparts its drinkers ‘enduring youth hood’ and ‘immortality’ with all their characteristics features.
As the story reveals, to procure a thing like ‘nectar’ is not easy. It requires a sorest advice, a collective and tiresome effort, appropriate equipments, suitable occasion, and appropriate place. We learn from the epic that it is the joint effort of “Devas” and “Asuras” together with all their supernatural powers that brought out the so called “Amrit” or “Nectar” from the depth of “Palazhi” (The Sea of milk). Their endeavour with all it hardships and difficulties symbolises ‘man’s effort to achieve rejuvenation even with all its risks. It took much time for man to attain means of rejuvenation though not in the fullest extent.
It is the enduring efforts of “Rishies” (the saintly monks) in the form of intensive meditation and contemplation that impart the real source of rejuvenation for the modern man. As to the “Rishies”, they are secluded class and therefore, to know more details regarding their discoveries and methodologies is not easy. The utility of their findings could not be made use of. Yet the hard working and research minded modern people tried their best to secure it.The good old great maestros of the discipline of Ayurveda and sidha medicines used to conduct those above said means of rejuvenation in the form of “kalpas”.
They were
dedicated, devoted and scholastically skilled in conducting them. Moreover, situations and surroundings were so proper then. Even when the efforts were tiresome and risky yet the results were highly promising. The great impact or rejuvenation, the giving way f old age to youth hood with all its characteristics made the “kalpas” the dream and achievement of all the desired. History offers many examples. There are also recent events of successful efforts and achievements on association with “kalpas” in the ultra modern age of science and technologies. Wonderfully enough, they were provided to be great accomplishments beyond the reaches of modern sciences. But the most challenging factor is that these kings of treatment are not affordable now days. It is here that we should think of other sources of rejuvenation with lesser efforts than the actual. One such an example is following
